Zebra ZC300 Product Review
The high-quality resolution of the Zebra ZC300 ID card printer produces outstanding photo ID cards with every print.
Fully equipped with an intuitive LCD interface for clear navigation, the simple usability, including an easy load-and-go ribbon, enables effortless printing.
Optional upgrades such as a lockable enclosure for additional security and the card flipper for dual-sided printing are available along with encoding upgrades, allowing you to personalise your printer to suit any need.
The 300 dpi print resolution ensures outstanding print quality is guaranteed with the Zebra ZC300. Colours are printed in bright and vivid vibrancy, ensuring photo-like images, while the monochrome black resin produces detailed, crisp text and accurate barcodes.
With a two-year warranty on both printer and printhead, Zebra assures the quality and durability of the ZC300 model.
For complete ease of use, Zebra has created an effortless manual card feed for the ZC300. The lightpipe guides the user through the manual feeding process, just the same as automatic machines do. The feeder also adjusts to the thickness of each card.
The intuitive interface makes using the ZC300 completely hassle-free. The visual display allows you to see clear instructions along with how your card looks and how setting changes impact the card design. This eliminates having to print test cards.
Alongside this, the new hopper design allows cards to be loaded and unloaded quickly. The saloon-style output doors enable you to easily take out the cards and, by making the input and output hoppers have the same card capacity, this means your hoppers can be emptied and refilled at the same time.
Use your new Zebra ZC300 printer straight away, just plug in and start printing instantly. The clear user manual is on-hand to guide you through the user interface, ensuring you make the most of your printer.
To ensure a high level of security, the Zebra ZC300 has a Kensington printer cover lock to prevent theft of card stock and rejected cards. This is perfect when the printer is held in public areas.
The ZC300 also comes with AES data encryption to protect sensitive data during printing, such as account numbers.
Advanced security features enable a main host to grant and deny printer access. This stops any unauthorised devices using the printer, which is a necessary option when using the printer through Ethernet and Wi-Fi connectivity.
The Zebra ZC300 has the option of magnetic stripe encoding with both high and low coercivity. You can also choose to add third-party contactless encoding to your printer, enabling you to create contactless access control cards.
The Zebra ZC300 prints to both CR79 and CR80 credit-card sized cards. It works with several card materials including PVC, PVC composite and even prints onto adhesive back and writable back cards.
The Zebra ZC300 is compactly made for fitting neatly onto a desk. Its exact dimensions are 25.8cm (H) x 15.7cm (W) x 38.3cm (L), and it weighs 4kgs with the dual-sided model weighing slightly more at 4.4kgs.
The Zebra ZC300 is purposely made with a thin, long shape to inconspicuously fit onto a desk. The monochrome colours of black and silver create a stylish look that fits in any environment from offices to hospitals.
The ZC300 is a dye-sublimation thermal transfer direct-to-card (DTC) printer model that produces both full-colour and monochrome cards in an edge-to-edge format.
DTC printing takes the card design from the ribbon and then prints it directly onto the surface of the card to give it a glossy, professional finish.
The Zebra ZC300 is built for producing large volumes of high-quality cards.
It can print up to a massive 900 single-sided monochrome cards and 200 single-sided full-colour cards per hour.
As dual-sided printing takes slightly longer, the ZC300 can produce 140 full-colour cards and 450 monochrome cards per hour.
The Zebra ZC300 comes with USB and built-in 10/100 Ethernet as standard. This allows stand-alone printing while the Ethernet connection gives multiple user access, maximising printer usage.
There is also an optional upgrade to Wi-Fi connectivity, increasing user flexibility and eliminating the time and cost it takes to run network cabling.
The Zebra ZC300 is compatible with Microsoft Windows Server 2003, 2008, 2012, 7, 8, 10, Mac OS, and Linux.
We have decided to award the Zebra ZC300 four stars out of five.
This incredible printer comes in both single and dual-sided printing modules and has been improved from the Zebra ZXP range to print better quality cards at faster speeds. The easy-to-use LCD interface ensures you get the most from your ZC300 printer and allows you to see the design before you print.
The only downside of the ZC300 is that it lacks security features for printed cards. There is no option of adding holograms or UV lamination, so this is why we have awarded four stars instead of five.
