In 2017 it's essential that your printed cards especially photo ID, have a layer of visual security added to stop card cloning.
The IDP Smart 30 provides visual card security with the use of UV ink.
Using the 65900 YMCKO UV ribbon, you can print a specific word or image onto the card that can only be seen under UV light, so duplicated cards can be easily identified.
The IDP Smart 30 comes with two installable encoders, magnetic stripe, and contact and contactless smart card.
The magnetic stripe encoder allows for both cards with a lo-co & hi-co stripes to be printed on.
The contactless encoder allows for MIFARE and ISO 14443 (Type A/B) cards to be printed.
The Smart 30 is a thermal card printer, or as it's also known as; a direct-to-card printer, meaning it works by transferring a design from a YMCKO or monochrome ribbon directly to the surface of the card.
The printer offers a full edge-to-edge coverage of cards and prints at the standard 300dpi (dots per inch).
Like most ID card printers, this printer accepts CR80 sized cards (standard credit card size). It also allows both 0.38mm (15mil) and 0.76mm (30mil) thickness. A variety of card types which include; PVC, PET, and composite PVC.
We understand that throughout the year you may experience busy periods or require cards on an ad-hoc basis; therefore, your name badge printer needs to accommodate for this.
Based on a standard working week of 37 hours the 30 can print a maximum of 4,736 full-colour plastic cards and 26,640 single-colour monochrome cards.
In one hour the user can print 128 full-colour cards, or 720 single-colour monochrome cards (black and white).
As the IDP Smart 30 is an entry-level printer for low volume printing its default connectivity is USB, so one desktop application can only use the printer.
If you require multiple uses through a network, then an Ethernet connection is available as an optional upgrade.
This printer is compatible for use with Microsoft Windows 2000/2003/XP/ Vista/7/8/, Mac OS and Linux.
Compact and cute, this printer won't look out of place in an office environment. The dimensions of the printer are width 17.2cm, length 37.7cm, and height 19cm, making it one of the smallest of the card printers in our current range.
