Digital ID Identify Market Leader for European Growth

Digital ID, part of the Barcodes Group is pleased to announce the acquisition of Identbase.

With headquarters located in Meppen, Identbase is recognised as the number one distributor of photo identification & access control products in Germany, specialising in the supply of card printers, printed cards, consumables and card-wearing accessories.

The recent acquisition creates a truly undisputed global market leader in the ID card industry by combining UK-based Digital ID with Identbase of Germany, Plasco, AlphaCard and ID Wholesaler located in the US.

The acquisition brings the headcount of Digital ID to 160+ staff located across six offices in the UK, Sweden, Germany and Austria.

The Identbase team will remain based in Meppen, Germany and will retain the Identbase brand.

Alongside continued organic growth, the acquisition of Identbase will see the opening of up to 40 new jobs at the group’s headquarters based in Stockport, taking the overall European headcount to 200+ for the forthcoming year. The combined ID business will now employ staff numbers in excess of 350 employees globally across 13 cities.
