A <a href=\"https:\/\/www.digitalid.co.uk\/id-card-printers\/dtc-printers\">direct-to-card printer<\/a> uses a printer ribbon and printhead which come in direct contact with the card surface to print the card design onto the card.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Conversely, a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.digitalid.co.uk\/id-card-printers\/re-transfer-printers\">retransfer printer<\/a> prints the card design onto an overlay film via the ribbon.
